What's the process to enter Aged Care accommodation?

The Department of Health and Ageing have put together a pack that details all the steps required to assist you on this journey. These can be obtained from St Catherine's Hostel reception between office hours or alternatively from any Centrelink office.

These packs also detail the relevant costs associated with Aged Care accommodation.

 

How can I find out what St Catherine's Hostel is like ?

There are two ways :

  • Making an appointment with the Hostel Care Manager - Erika Williams on Phone no. 03 5721 2243 to show you through the facility ( Allow an hour)
  • Coming in for two week respite. The Hostel has a designated Respite room, which is the same as our permanent residents' rooms. People who are looking at Hostel care on a permanent basis utilise this two week period to experience the Hostel and all that it has to offer.
