What is Day Respite Care?
At St Catherine’s we understand the needs of carers and have developed a day respite program which enables the person you look after to enjoy the benefits of residential care on an ad hoc basis, while giving you more time in your day.
St Catherine’s offers a low care day respite program. We offer a safe, welcoming and social environment for your loved as well as stimulation through our lifestyle program. Day respite care is available from Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays) with clients being able to access the program between 9am to 5pm on each of these days. |
Day respite can involve the following:
- Assistance with personal care including medications
- Structured leisure and lifestyle activities are offered
- Morning tea, afternoon tea and lunch are provided. Consideration is given to special dietary needs if required.
- Clients can be self-referred, referred by a General Practitioner or other Health Practitioner.
Access to allied health, nursing, hairdressing and other services may also be arranged for those attending the day program. Our day respite service has a focus on healthy, positive living through structured activity programs.
